About Us

Ja: Studio is Architecture and Design Studio based in Pokhara that inspires to become a design discourse and experimentation hub bringing together artist, architects and designers, students and design enthusiasts.

We Believe that design should be more than what we see. Space we feel for, nature we enjoy, the feeling of belongingness, and something that motivate us to do good and become better is what our design aims to propagate.

Rojana

Senior Architect and Co-founder

Rojana Joshi

With more than 30 years of experience in the field, we are glad to have Mrs. Joshi as a guiding angel in our firm.

Currently the Principal of Pokhara Engineering College and a Consultant Senior Architect at Pokhara International Regional Airport, she has also been the Vice Principal, Head of Department, and faculty at Nepal Engineering College, Bhaktapur (1996-2018). Still actively practicing in the field, her design portfolio as an architect includes Valley Homes Housing, Bharatpur Hospital, Pokhara University, Neuro Hospital (Doctors’ Quarters), Bar Council Building, and many more.

Rajani

Rajani Shrestha

Head Architect of the firm, she looks over all the design project of the firm. Enthusiastic and fun loving Ms. Shrestha is a Tribhuvan University, Pulchowk alumini (2017) and has worked as Architect in ANOT architecture, a reputed firm based in Kathmandu(2017-18).

She was also involved in Architecture Consultation team in Pokhara Regional International Airport (2018-2019). Assistant Lecturer at Pokhara Engineering College, she is also a budding Pen and Ink Artist who loves to play Ukulele and do Yoga.

Bikash

Co-founder

Bikash Man Shakya

With knowledge of little bit of everything, Mr. Shakya has been aiding this all women design team to explore different horizons of design and construction field. Originally a brand design communicator Bikash is Kathmandu University alumini (2015) and doodle artist from Kathmandu.

He has worked as artist assistant for Yuki Goto during his stay in Tokyo, Japan (2016-2017) and chief designer at Fuzion Pvt Ltd (2017-2018) after his return. In Pokhara he was involved in Parichay Advertising (2018-2019) as Senior Designer before his venture started at JA: Architecture.

In addition to being a visiting faculty member at Pokhara Engineering College since 2018, he enjoys gardening in his spare time

Meet Our Team

We are a core team of two senior architects and couple of architects along with a creative designer, a mix of long experience and young enthusiastic members. We usually take two interns every session who has a potential to learn and grow as not only designer but also a good human being.

Our crafts man are equally valuable to us. Electricians, plumbers, masons, and various other forces that comes together as a team to execute our design ideas are what helps us complete our projects successfully.
